Our Mission

The mission of the Marist FRC Robotics team is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs like Reach for Excellence that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

 

It also helps us to develop important life skills such as problem-solving, communication, collaboration, leadership, and creativity. Ultimately, robotics inspires innovation and helps prepare us for the demands of the future workforce.

We are the future.

✰ How many FTC meets are there per year?

FTC has 5 meets, including the FTC League Tournament.

If a team qualifies for States during the Marist-Atlanta League Tournament, they advance to  the Georgia FTC State Tournament.

✰ How many people are on each team?

Each Marist FTC team has about 5-6 students.

Marist has only 1 FRC team, which consistis of 20+ students.

✰ How many robotics classes are there?

Marist offers many BCE courses, but has a total of 6 robotics courses:

​

7th-grade robotics(BC105 Grade 7)

8th-grade robotics(BC125 Grade 8)

Robotics and Engineering I (FTC) (BC165: Grades 9-12)

Robotics and Engineering II (FTC) (BC270: Grades 9-12)

Robotics and Engineering III (FTC) (BC375: Grades 9-12)

Advanced Robotics (FRC) (BC380: Grades 10-12)

✰ Does everyone get to build?

​Of course!  Everbody in class has the opportunity to build, design, code, organize the team's engieering botebook, or be in charge of marketing.

​

✰ What happens if you win the FTC or FRC State tournaments?

If a team wins the Atlanta-Marist League FTC Tournament, advances to the Georgia State Tournament, and wins, they qualify for the FIRST World Championship for either FTC and FRC!

 

✰ Is it fun?

The entire Marist robotics experience is very, very fun. Many opportunites promote crativityt and allow you to being your ideas and visions to the group through collaborating and communicating as a team.
